What Does New York Paid Family Leave Mean for Employers?

Effective January 1, 2018, all active full- and part-time private sector employees must be covered for Paid Family Leave (PFL) as part of a rider on the employer’s disability plan (DBL). This new rider will allow employees to take paid leave to provide care for a family member in serious need, to bond with a child after giving birth/adopting/foster care, or to take leave for a qualifying military event.
